We didn’t hold back on infusing this small but mighty home with elements of Art Deco, fun, personality, and color!

This client contacted us looking for a mid-century modern interior vibe in the remodel of their 1930’s row house. It was important to the client that we pay proper tribute to the home’s original features and bring to life their warm, personable, and well-traveled aesthetic.

We used the original vintage furnishings in the master bedroom and family room while adding in some key pieces. Incorporating the existing pieces into the blue and orange decor to give an upscale, mid-century modern feel in this interior.

We designed the main floor to make it more welcoming and bright, a primary bedroom that feels like a vacation getaway, and a guest suite that’s comfortable and playful.

The Family Room invites you in for conversation and connection the moment you step through the front door.

Our client’s favorite colors are blue and orange which we emphasized with patterned, textured throw pillows which serve as decor and comfort. Bold contrasts and liveliness were brought in to every last detail. The draperies are a gray linen with navy-blue art deco trim and finished with an antique gold-finished hardware.

The glamorous floor lamp is reminiscent of the Art Deco time period with its warm gold finish and four arms each adorned with a glass globe shade. The light is on a dimmer to give max lighting for tasks and low lighting for ambiance.

We love every opportunity to bring in meaningful pieces into the interiors we design, and incorporated a sentimental piece of art that makes it personal to their story.

Everything in this living room from the small side table to the art was designed to be modern, while nodding back to times of the past.

One of our favorite pieces in this mid-century modern interior living room is the statement rug, with triangles in mustard, aqua, beige, charcoal, light gray, and orange. The rug ties the aesthetics into the adjoining dining room.

The wallcovering in the dining room captures attention and makes a bold statement. We wanted to ensure the dining room coordinated with the family room but would set a tone all of its own. The navy and gold wallcovering has a vintage vibe with its distinctive, dimensional design crafted from natural materials.

Six velvet and gold chairs coordinate with the wallcovering perfectly and provide space and comfort when entertaining. The dining room table is a sharp contrast of bleached pine and a woven cane base and the chandelier brings the design together beautifully with an art deco and modern design.

This dining room is glamorous, stylish, vintage, and sophisticated while still being just as welcoming as the homeowners!

To bring this Mid-Century Modern interior design together, we also remodeled the basement level guest suite, and the primary bedroom.

Step into the guest suite and you might never leave! A burst of teal on this art deco wallcovering makes a fun and whimsical statement while encouraging you to kick off your shoes and make yourself right at home. Guests are wrapped in luxury with no detail spared in ensuring their utmost comfort and relaxation. Two showstopping swivel chairs ensure guests have a place to enjoy evening cocktails or indulge in a great book.

The primary bedroom has a silky, luxe feel as we paired custom Euro shams in the client’s favorite blues, oranges, and creams with two mandarin orange Italian wool throw pillows for a layered, high-end custom look. The client’s existing furniture is by Kipp Stewart and was a fabulous way to bring to life the mid century modern interior design in this bedroom.

A 100% wool, hand-tufted rug that’s plush and colorful is the utmost of cozy and soft for tired toes while simultaneously packing a colorful punch.

Simple white draperies with geometric gold trim and antique gold hardware are lined with blackout lining so our clients can sleep in to their heart’s desire and get the quality rest they crave.
