Traditional and Timeless Dining Room in Stafford, Virginia

This traditional and timeless dining room is the perfect space to elegantly wine and dine while warmly welcoming you in to kick your shoes off and relax after a long day.
This timeless and traditional dining room remodel took place in Stafford, VA. Our clients contacted 2 Navy Lane with a desire to update their space to a brighter, more modern design, while still keeping their existing furnishings. We were able to bring their cherished dining room table and china cabinet together with a new paint color, new custom draperies and hardware, recovered chairs, a new chandelier, and updated accessories. The dining room came out beautifully and is the perfect marriage of traditional and timeless.
Timeless
The walls are a soft muted green that added life to this once-dated dining room. It’s colorful, warm, and provides a calming neutral backdrop for this space. The color was Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2022 and it’s so clear as to why, it’s a timeless hue that brings the design together.
Functional
The arm chairs were covered in a different fabric than the side chairs to bring in darker accents. Both fabrics are bleach cleanable fabric, which is a must-have when children or pets are being invited to dinner. Function is always first and foremost in our minds when we design a beautiful space.
Sophisticated
The drapery fabric brightens the room with its traditional floral on a light oatmeal background. Sage green and warm tones tie in the warmth found in the wood furniture. Our clients loved the function of the draperies paired with the stunning brushed brass hardware, and the nod to tradition in the arabesque scroll finial in antique brass.
We kept it simple with the chandelier to bring in that modern, timeless style that combines so well with the rich, traditional elements in the room. We left out the fuss in the chandelier so as to allow other design elements to really steal the show!
The rug is a contemporary choice to elevate and update the space as well as tie in the modern look in the chandelier. We love the abstract and fluid look of warm taupes, light grey, ivory, and warm rust tones to bring the entire color palette together seamlessly.
